Key Scripture:
“So when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree desirable to make one wise, she took of its fruit and ate. She also gave to her husband with her, and he ate.” — Genesis 3:6 (NKJV)
Introduction: The Great Tragedy
The greatest loss humanity ever experienced was not losing Heaven, it was losing the Kingdom. Adam and Eve did not fall from religion, they fell from dominion, authority, relationship, and Kingdom citizenship.
The Fall was not primarily about eating a fruit, it was about breaking trust, violating God’s command, and transferring authority away from God’s government.
What Really Happened in Genesis 3?
I recommend you to read the chapter 3 of Genesis to understand what is really happened, because the mystery of fall is hidden there.
Key Elements:
- Deception:
The serpent (Satan) questioned God’s word and introduced doubt (Genesis 3:1–5). - Disobedience:
Adam and Eve chose to believe a lie over God’s truth.
They exercised their free will outside of God’s will. - Legal Transfer of Authority:
By obeying Satan rather than God, humanity handed over their delegated dominion to the kingdom of darkness.
Consequences of the Fall:
|
Loss |
Description |
|
Loss of Dominion |
Humanity no longer ruled earth as God’s ambassadors. |
|
Loss of Relationship |
Intimacy with the King was broken; fear replaced boldness. |
|
Loss of Identity |
Humanity forgot their royal image and adopted a fallen mindset. |
|
Loss of Citizenship |
Mankind became separated from Heaven’s Kingdom government. |
|
Introduction of Corruption and Death |
Spiritual death entered, leading to physical death and decay. |
Genesis 3:24:
“So He drove out the man; and He placed cherubim at the east of the garden of Eden… to guard the way to the tree of life.”
Note:
Man was expelled from the Garden not out of punishment, but to prevent eternal corruption. Imagine if you are corrupted and you live eternal, you are an eternal killer, an eternal murder.
Kingdom Perspective on the Fall:
- Sin caused the loss of government (Kingdom), not just moral failure.
- Religion began when humanity tried to cover their shame with fig leaves (Genesis 3:7).
- God’s Plan immediately set in motion a way to restore the Kingdom through Christ (Genesis 3:15 the prophecy of the Redeemer).
Kingdom Principle from Lesson 2.1:
The Fall of man was a fall from rulership, relationship, and responsibility, not just from innocence.
Reflection Questions:
- What authority or dominion have you unknowingly surrendered in your life?
- How does understanding the Fall as a loss of Kingdom government change the way you view salvation?
- Why do you think religion could never replace what mankind lost in Genesis 3?
Key Declaration for Students:
“Though mankind fell, God’s plan for my restoration was already in motion. I am destined to reign with the King again!”
Optional Deeper Study for Students:
- Read Romans 5:17 read “By one man’s offense death reigned… much more those who receive abundance of grace and the gift of righteousness will reign in life through the One, Jesus Christ.”
- Meditate on Genesis 3:15 God’s first promise of redemption.
